Lesbian Lives 2013
The Lesbian Lives Conference is the annual conference of lesbian studies.
The Lesbian Lives Conference has been organised by the Women’s Studies Centre at University College Dublin for the past seventeen years. In 2011 the conference was hosted by the University of Brighton’s LGBT and Queer Life Research Hub in a unique collaboration to celebrate its 18th birthday in Brighton! Since then the conference has alternated between Brighton and Dublin
In 2013 as part of the SusNet project we recorded parts of the conference: The Modern Lesbian and talks from this event can be found under Conversations
Queer Feminist Social Media Praxis Workshop
On 16 May 2013, SusNet held our first workshop, Queer Feminist Media Praxis. The day included a fantastic keynote speech by Alex Juhasz, a presentation by the women behind the Seeing Red project and a performance by Lashings of Ginger Beer Time.
As a follow-up, we are currently seeking contributions for a special issue of Ada: A Journal of Gender, New Media and Technology.
