She has written us a report on watching the 16th Shanghai International Film festival “from afar”, which discusses some of the online discourses that emerged around this year’s SIFF. Menghsin C. Horng is a Ph.D. candidate at UC Berkeley, in East Asian and Film Studies. She has written us a report on the 50th Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival. The report can be accessed here. Dina Iordanova is Professor of Film Studies at the University of St Andrews, and a network member who has written extensively on film festivals globally. We have a new update from network member Elena Pollachi, based at Ca’Foscari University in Venice. Elena was a jury member at the 4th Xi’an China International Folk Video Festival, which took place in October and November 2013.
