For those based in the USA and interested in the Chinese independent film festival circuit, a series of events are taking place next week at Harvard and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Both institutions are hosting a visit by Yi Sicheng, currently director of the Yunnan Multiculture Visual Festival (Yunfest) – one of China’s oldest and largest independent film festivals – and two filmmakers, Mao Chengyu and Cong Feng. Activities include screenings and public lectures/Q&As. Information on the event at Ann Arbor can be found here, while details about the screenings at Harvard are here.
