Assisting and advising academics on all aspects of the Research Excellence Framework, he specifically provides support on the communication and clarification of research processes and the development of impact case studies.<\/p>\n<p>His principal research interest lies with understanding musical experience and, in particular, the relationship between music and narrative. Kieran is currently investigating how recent developments in digital media have transformed the way we listen to, understand, and experience music, focusing on the evolution of the digital playlist from the mixtape and the development of platforms such as iTunes and Spotify. His other research interests include: the narrative function of music and song in Hindi films, cultural value, and the role of Brass Bands within communities.<\/p>\n<p>Kieran\u2019s PhD was awarded in 2011 from King\u2019s College London for a thesis entitled \u2018The \u201cDramatic\u201d Overture and the Idea of Tragic Narrative\u2019.
