{"id":30,"date":"2013-03-06T11:09:16","date_gmt":"2013-03-06T11:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reframe.sussex.ac.uk\/mediamorphosis\/?page_id=30"},"modified":"2013-11-09T16:24:38","modified_gmt":"2013-11-09T16:24:38","slug":"mediamorphosis","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/reframe.sussex.ac.uk\/mediamorphosis\/mediamorphosis\/","title":{"rendered":"MEDIAMORPHOSIS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mediamorphosis is a one-day symposium and exhibition, on May 10, 2013 that invites researchers, practitioners, artists, designers, scientists to submit, discuss, exchange and engage with analogue and digital practices as <em>mediamorphosis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Henry Jenkins (2004) describes how digital media potentially incorporates all previous \u0003media so that it no longer makes sense to think in medium-specific terms, problematising \u0003the concept of authenticity and authentic experience. In this one-day symposium, we are thus interested in questioning what is authentic experience within digital media? And what \u0003drives the pervasive cultural desire for an authentic experience? Because digitalisation \u0003inevitably alters the original in a mediamorphosis-like transformation, we are interested in \u0003exploring the authentic nature of this new object\/experience.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mediamorphosis is a collective initiative by <a href=\"http:\/\/ccprgsussex.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">CCPRG<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mediamorphosis symposium is co-funded and supported by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sussex.ac.uk\/doctoralschool\/internal\/rli\/\" target=\"_blank\">Doctoral School\u2019s Researcher-Led Initiative (RLI) fund<\/a>.
