{"id":232,"date":"2017-08-04T10:10:03","date_gmt":"2017-08-04T10:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reframe.sussex.ac.uk\/lifewritingprojects\/?page_id=232"},"modified":"2017-08-31T11:50:32","modified_gmt":"2017-08-31T11:50:32","slug":"three-green-dresses-by-jenni-cresswell","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/reframe.sussex.ac.uk\/lifewritingprojects\/clothes\/three-green-dresses-by-jenni-cresswell\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Green Dresses by Jenni Cresswell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/215003973\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/215003973\">Three Green Dresses: Transforming dresses and revealing narratives<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jenni Cresswell<\/p>\n<p>July 2017<\/p>\n<p>Over the last few years, my personal creative practice has transformed to become more obviously about my personal stories.\u00a0 This development of my work to reveal my inner stories has continued to present challenges in achieving a balance between how much of myself to reveal or conceal.<\/p>\n<p>My work centres on using second hand clothes \u2013 particularly dresses \u2013 as inspiration and starting point.\u00a0 I like to choose dresses that already tell a story through their past ownership and through the worn out marks that they have acquired.\u00a0 My work usually involves deconstructing the dresses to reveal previously hidden, secret parts of the fabric.\u00a0 I then add my own narrative to that of the dresses by embellishing with a variety of techniques including print, hand &amp;
