This new\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/reframe.sussex.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>REFRAME<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0website will serve\u00a0three main functions, as follows.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an\u00a0<strong>online repository<\/strong>\u00a0for the papers, discussions and screening programme of an international conference and workshop on\u00a0<strong>The Audiovisual Essay: Practice and Theory<\/strong>, organised by Adrian Martin\u00a0and\u00a0Cristina \u00c1lvarez L\u00f3pez (supported by and Vinzenz Hediger of Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany). These events took place in November 2013 at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/deutsches-filminstitut.de\/en\/filmmuseum\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deutsches<em>Filmmuseum<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Deutsches Filminstitut, in Frankfurt\u00a0<\/a>in partnership with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tfm.uni-frankfurt.de\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Film and Audiovisual Media<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uni-frankfurt.de\/\" target=\"_blank\">Goethe University<\/a>. The section of the website where these materials can be accessed \u2014 titled\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/reframe.sussex.ac.uk\/audiovisualessay\/frankfurt-papers\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Frankfurt Papers<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(co-edited by Cristina \u00c1lvarez L\u00f3pez, Catherine Grant and Adrian Martin) \u2014 can be found\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/reframe.sussex.ac.uk\/audiovisualessay\/frankfurt-papers\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0a\u00a0<strong>companion publication<\/strong>\u00a0to<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mediacommons.futureofthebook.org\/intransition\/theme-week\/2014\/35\/journal-videographic-film-moving-image-studies-13-2014\" target=\"_blank\">issue 1.3<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of the new peer-reviewed journal\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mediacommons.futureofthebook.org\/intransition\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>[in]Transition<\/strong><\/a>, A collaboration between<a href=\"http:\/\/mediacommons.futureofthebook.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">MediaCommons<\/a>\u00a0and the Society for Cinema and Media Studies\u2019 official publication,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmstudies.org\/?page=cinema_journal\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Cinema Journal<\/em>,<\/a>\u00a0<strong>[in]Transition<\/strong>\u00a0is the first peer-reviewed academic periodical specifically given over to\u00a0<span data-scayt_word=\"videographic\" data-scaytid=\"2\">videographic<\/span>\u00a0film and moving image\u00a0studies.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mediacommons.futureofthebook.org\/intransition\/theme-week\/2014\/35\/journal-videographic-film-moving-image-studies-13-2014\" target=\"_blank\">Issue 1.3<\/a>(edited by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mediacommons.futureofthebook.org\/intransition\/2014\/09\/14\/audiovisual-essay-my-favorite-things\" target=\"_blank\">Catherine Grant<\/a>), was devoted to a sustained reflection on the practice and theory of the audiovisual essay form, with particular reference to its emerging procedures and uses in film and moving image criticism and\u00a0research. The table of contents for this section (also edited by Catherine Grant) can be found\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/reframe.sussex.ac.uk\/audiovisualessay\/reflections\/intransition-1-3\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>And it will be\u00a0a\u00a0<strong>rolling\u00a0publication<\/strong>\u00a0for continuing reflections on and resources concerning the practice and theory of the audiovisual essay.
