Rossum’s Universal Replicants is an adaptation of author Karel Capek’s radical theatrical 1920 Czech production of RUR: Rossum’s Universal Robots. Although credited with the invention of the word “Robot”, Capek’s ideas concern replicant bio-technologies and are therefore deeply relevant today in their contribution to debates on post-humanism and the increasing emergence of bionic human additions.
